Our Process

How Publishing Navigation Works

Every author's path looks different, but here's the shape a typical engagement takes.

01

Publishing Goals Consultation

We talk through what success looks like for you — a Big Five deal, a hybrid partner, or full creative control through self-publishing.

02

Manuscript & Market Readiness Review

We assess whether your manuscript and materials are ready to submit, and what's missing if they're not.

03

Path Recommendation

You receive a clear recommendation on the publishing route most likely to hit your goals, with the tradeoffs explained.

04

Submission or Launch Execution

We pursue agents and publishers on your behalf, or guide you step by step through a self-published launch.

05

Post-Publication Support

Marketing, distribution, and next-book planning don't stop once the book is out — we stay in your corner.

FAQ

Publishing Navigation FAQ

How do I know which publishing path is right for me?

It depends on your goals, timeline, budget, and how much creative control you want to retain. Our consultation walks through the tradeoffs of traditional, hybrid, and self-publishing for your specific book.

Do you guarantee a publishing deal?

No one ethically can. What we guarantee is submission-ready materials, a targeted strategy, and real introductions where a fit exists — the same process professional agents use.

How long does traditional publishing take?

From submission to a signed deal can take anywhere from a few months to over a year, and production typically adds another twelve to eighteen months after that.

What exactly is hybrid publishing?

Hybrid publishers combine elements of traditional and self-publishing — you typically pay production costs but retain more creative control and a larger royalty share than a traditional deal.

Do you take a percentage of my royalties?

No. Our publishing navigation is a flat-fee service, not a commission-based agency arrangement, so our incentives stay aligned with what's right for your book.

Can you help if my manuscript already exists?

Yes. Many clients come to us with a finished manuscript and only need help navigating what comes next.
